“Capitalizing on Finance” Program Now Posted

Stephen Mihm of the University of Georgia and Julia Ott of the New School have organized a conference in cooperation with the Huntington Library in San Marino, California, on "Capitalizing on Finance: New Directions in the History of Capitalism." The conference will take place on April 12-13, 2013. The program is now available on-line; topics include "Finance and the Atlantic World," "Slavery and Finance," "Managing Risk, Insuring Success," "Banking on Empire," "The Roots of the Current Crisis," and "Financial Politics."
The registration fee for the conference is $25 (students free), and pre-registration is required by April 5; details are available on the program site. Questions should be addressed to researchconference@huntington.org.
