New job opportunity: tenure-track position in Economic and Business History at Universidad del Pacífico, Lima, Peru

The Humanities Department at the Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, Peru is calling for applications for a teaching and research tenure track position in Economic and Business History to start in February of 2020.


Responsabilidades

Dictar al menos una sección del curso de Historia económica y empresarial y un curso electivo en el pregrado. La carga lectiva es de 8 créditos por semestre.
Realizar y publicar investigaciones de manera periódica en revistas académicas de historia de alto impacto.
Participar en las actividades y el desarrollo institucional del Departamento Académico de Humanidades y de la Universidad del Pacífico.


Los requisitos que deben cumplir los candidatos son los siguientes:

Grado de Doctor en Historia (se aceptarán grados en otras disciplinas siempre y cuando demuestren que su trabajo está orientado al perfil solicitado). El diploma de doctorado debe haber sido expedido por una universidad peruana o extranjera de reconocido prestigio.
Publicaciones: por lo menos cuatro documentos de su autoría en el área de Historia presentados en eventos académicos (de preferencia internacionales) y/o publicados en revistas científicas o editoriales de reconocida calidad académica.
Docencia: acreditar experiencia docente y pertenecer al tercio superior en la evaluación docente del sistema universitario donde se haya desempeñado como profesor.

Publicación de lista corta: 28 de octubre de 2019.
Evaluación de competencias docentes: del 11 al 15 de noviembre de 2019.
Comunicación de resultados de evaluación: 26 noviembre.
Proceso de evaluación a cargo de las autoridades académicas de la Universidad del Pacífico (incluye entrevista presencial o virtual con el candidato): inicios de diciembre de 2019
Comunicación final sobre resultados de evaluación: 17 de diciembre de 2019.
Inicio de labores: 1 de febrero de 2020.

Regina Blaszczyk on the Business of Color

In September, MIT Press published Regina Lee Blaszczyk 's book, The Color Revolution , in which she "traces the relationship of color and commerce, from haute couture to automobile showrooms to interior design, describing the often unrecognized role of the color profession in consumer culture."
